Following the success of her guest chef stint at Spices last year, Monnipa Rungthong, chef de Cuisine of Thiptara at The Peninsula Bangkok returned to transport her Thai cuisine mastery to Spices and her signature menu will remain available to 1 June.
Highlights include Select of Miang Kham, a traditional Thai appetiser of fried shrimp pop and sweet dried shrimp wrapped in betel leaf. The Tom Yum Soup features river prawns, lemongrass, lime and bird’s eye chili and Khao Soy Gai Yang is an authentic Northern yellow curry with grilled chicken, crispy egg noodles, lime and pickles. Nua Yang Jim Jaew is a Thai Isaan-marinated grilled beef tenderloin with roasted rice chili sauce and the indulgent Kwao Phad Tum Yum Talay is a fried rice dish with tiger prawns, squid, scallops, lemongrass and lime. A fitting finale is always Khao Niew Mamuang, the beloved Thai dessert of sticky rice with fresh sweet mango and coconut ice cream. These and more promise a true celebration of the country’s cuisine.
For creative refreshing drinks, the Spices’ beverage team has crafted “The Spices”, a delightful blend of Thai whiskey, litchi, lemongrass, coconut cordial and club soda. Inspired by the tropical ambiance of Thiptara restaurant, the “Southside’s Thiptara” combines The Peninsula jasmine green tea, lemongrass and white peach juice, making it the perfect summer refreshment.
